Lawrence Lek - AIDOL 爱道 (OST) Vinyl LP with Four Art Prints

Lawrence Lek is an artist, filmmaker, and musician who unifies diverse practices—architecture, gaming, video, music and fiction—into a continuously expanding cinematic universe. Co-produced and Co-commissioned by Frieze and Forma, Lek was the recipient of the Frieze London Artist Award 2024.

The accompanying soundtrack to the film AIDOL, which continues Lek’s ongoing 'Sinofuturist' cinematic universe, which began in 2016 with Sinofuturism (1839-2046 AD). The video essay takes seven stereotypes of Chinese society (Computing, Copying, Gaming, Studying, Addiction, Labour and Gambling) to create a conspiracy theory about how China's technological rise is an emergent form of Artificial Intelligence.
