I say No

I say No

Valerie Savchits

Ellipsis Prints

“Sometimes, being afraid of confrontation and avoiding trouble today, we often say ‘yes’ to go with the flow, which in order can lead to another trouble and bring discomfort tomorrow. We are living in a world of manipulation and integrity/honesty is fading away with a speed of light. This work is just a reminder that no matter what are the consequences of saying no, you have the right to say it if you truly feel so.”— Valerie Savchits

Slavic mythology and archetypal narratives play an important role in forming Valerie Savchits’ visual language. She often seeks to destabilise the cultural stereotypes that feed into her work.

The mission of Ellipsis Prints is to provide support and encouragement to women and non-binary artists. An 'ellipsis' is the '... symbol. In this context it represents those genders frequently forgotten and excluded by the mainstream art world. Ellipsis Prints works with some of the most talented contemporary women and non-binary artists in the UK.

We fund their training in printmaking and the production of their prints as well as encouraging the development of their careers through visibility, sales and support. Ellipsis Prints works exclusively with women and non- binary artists in order to address the gender imbalance still prevalent in the contemporary art world.
